How would you describe your style?
I’d describe my photography style as light, romantic and timeless. Whether it is through laughter or more intimate moments, I love capturing images that will stand the test of time. I tend to favour candid and unscripted moments because they better capture the couple’s essence.
Do you offer engagement photography?
I do! An engagement session is a great way for us to get to know each other before your big day.
What are your rates?
My rates vary widely depending on the type of coverage you’re looking for. For more information on pricing, email me at email@example.com and I’d be happy to go over the options with you.
Do you travel outside of your area for weddings?
For a reasonable mileage fee, I will travel anywhere in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and PEI, as well as certain areas of Quebec. If your destination exceeds two hours driving each way, overnight accommodations may be required. Got a destination wedding a bit further away? I’m all ears! I’d love to sit down and discuss the possibility of capturing it.
How can we book? Do you require a deposit?
You can book by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. For weddings, I require a 30% minimum deposit to hold the date, and the remaining 70% during the week of the wedding. For family, couple, and other smaller sessions, a 20% deposit will hold the date, and the remainder can be paid the day of the shoot. Cash and email money transfer are both accepted.
How far in advance should I book?
I have no minimal timeframe for booking. This being said, I take a limited number of weddings each year to assure that I’ll have ample time to focus on each one individually and give couples the attention they deserve. During peak wedding season, I’d generally recommend booking 12-18 months before the big day.
What’s the next step after we’ve booked?
Breathe a sigh of relief knowing your photography needs will be taken care of! Then, I’ll email you possible dates to sit down and discuss your big day as well as go over the contract with you.
What are my responsibilities before/during/after the shoot? What are yours?
You are responsible for:
– Getting all relevant schedules/timelines to me in advance.
– Having anyone needed for group photos informed and rounded up.
– Discussing with me any specific photos you want taken and any ideas you have prior.
I am responsible for:
– Ensuring all of your wishes and ideas have been discussed beforehand.
– Arriving early and prepared.
– Helping you choose a good location for photos.
– Having a solid plan of the various shots and photo sessions throughout the day.
– Directing people in the photographs in terms of posing, etc.
– Having your photos completed and given to you within the agreed time frame of your wedding day.
Will you take candid photos at our wedding?
Absolutely! They’re honestly some of my favourites. You will get to witness moments that happened amongst your friends and family that you were completely unaware of.
Will you take traditional portraits too?
I think it’s so important to take some traditional portraits. Why? It likely isn’t often that your entire family assembles so nicely dressed (most of my family gatherings involve yoga pants – just sayin’). Some family members may even have travelled from away to celebrate your big day. You should leave a minimum of 30 to 45 minutes for this, depending on the size of your family. Please keep in mind that a very long list of groupings will result in less time for the documentary coverage.
How many images will we receive?
Depending on the package you choose, you can receive anywhere from 500 to 800 or more high-quality digital JPEG images which will be given to you on USB drive.
Can we share our photos on social media and with family/friends?
Absolutely! You are free to print, email and share your photographs with friends and family. There will be no watermarks on your images (though it’s totally awesome and appreciated when I’m tagged in albums). The only restriction on your images is commercial use, so please inquire before selling them. Keep in mind that I retain full ownership and copyright to the original works.
Do you retouch your photos?
Not exactly. While I do edit the images taken to make them pop by adjusting colour, contrast and tone, I do very minimal retouching. This means that I’ll remove a noticeable blemish but major retouching such as tattoo removal, heavy skin softening, etc. isn’t my jam. I believe in showcasing natural beauty and everyone’s awesome uniqueness. Part of crafting your story means creating photographs that look like you!
