Do your mornings look like the scene from Home Alone when they forget Kevin? Mine do. They’re generally a wild scramble of tossing clothes at the kids, making a breakfast to go and hustling them out the door only to return because someone (often myself) has forgotten something. So when I discovered overnight oats, it was somewhat life changing. I understand that they aren’t a new thing but they’re definitely a new-to-me thing. Anyway, being able to prep a breakfast for the entire week ahead of time that is both healthy, delicious AND easy is a fucking win by my standards. The kids each found a flavour they enjoyed as well, so there was no arguing over eating it (small victories, people). While researching, I fell into an overnight oat rabbit hole. I couldn’t believe how many different combinations there were. I’ve include five of my favourites in this post, but I would love to hear new suggestions in the comment box below.

*You can use any type of unsweetened milk (cashew, almond, etc.). Also, be sure to use old fashioned oats NOT the quick oats for these recipes or the consistency may be hella weird.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Add all ingredients to a mason jar. Save ingredients listed for garnish for the next day.
- Stir until combined.
- Refrigerate overnight (hence the name Overnight Oats).
- Garnish and serve warm or cold – both ways are tasty! Enjoy 😉
